Somerville NJ Police Department HVAC Air Duct Cleaning

Somerville Police Headquarters – Full HVAC Restoration by WellDuct
Scope: Clean and sanitize every rooftop HVAC unit and duct run in the Somerville, NJ Police Headquarters. The system had never been serviced since the building opened.
Challenges:
• Multiple rooftop units with heavy debris buildup from years of exposure. • Critical facility that needed to remain operational (911 dispatch, holding cells, admin offices) during the work. • Zero prior maintenance meant coils, drip pans, and supply trunks required deep restorative cleaning.
What WellDuct Delivered:
- Detailed Assessment & Safety Plan – We inspected each rooftop package unit, logged the condition of coils, blowers, and ductwork, and scheduled the cleaning in phases to avoid disrupting police operations.
- Rooftop Unit Cleaning – Using negative-pressure vacuums and HEPA filtration, our techs removed accumulated dust and rooftop grit from every unit. Coils were degreased, fins straightened, and drain pans sanitized.
- Duct & Plenum Service – Supply and return runs were agitated and vacuumed section by section, removing long-settled debris. We sealed access points afterward to maintain system integrity.
- Air Quality Reset – Once each unit was reassembled, we performed a controlled restart, checked airflow, and provided before/after documentation for the facility manager.
Results:
• Clean, efficient rooftop units delivering better airflow and temperature balance. • Reduced dust and contaminants throughout the station, improving conditions for officers and staff. • Verified compliance with municipal building maintenance standards.
Somerville Police HQ now has an HVAC system that’s finally caught up to the facility’s mission-critical status—all thanks to WellDuct’s comprehensive rooftop-to-register approach.
